Tema Learning Centre

I warmly welcome you to the Tema Learning Centre, popularly known as the UG Harbour Campus! This Centre is one of the Regional Learning Centres under the University of Ghana Learning Centres, with a newly built teaching and learning facility at Community Two in the Tema Metropolis.

Our vision is to become a Centre of Excellence for the efficient delivery of university-based continuing and distance education, using a technology-driven and people-centred approach.

Our mission is to create an enabling environment that makes the University of Ghana increasingly relevant to national and global development through continuing and ICT-based distance learning, teaching, and research.

I want to assure you that there is no “best” way to experience a UG-made Centre of Excellence except to join our beautiful and academically supportive learning environment. We can transform your learning experience because:

    • We are located in a marvellous commercial and industrial hub of Ghana with enormous opportunities for employment, industrial attachment, and internships.
    • We offer programmes that not only meet the demands of today’s job market but also equip students with the skills to navigate tomorrow’s challenges.
    • We respect and believe in an inclusive learning community where race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, age, and other socioeconomic status become secondary.
    • We have an exquisite academic building with comfortable classrooms and washrooms.
    • We have an ultra-modern computer lab with state-of-the-art equipment for distance learning, continuing education, online teaching, and examinations.
    • We have an effective DE-JCR leadership that prioritises the needs and aspirations of our precious students.
    • We have quality staff and academics including tutors with years of academic and industry experience to impart modern knowledge and skills.
    • We have a modern library for cutting-edge research and learning.
    • We prioritise engagement with community stakeholders in the Tema Metropolis.

Warmly,

Dr. Samuel Howard Quartey
